What is the benefit of valeting?
Aside from making your car look good, one of the primary benefits of having your car professionally valeted on a regular basis is that it significantly increases its' resale value. A car that has been well looked after will fetch a greater sale price than one that has been clearly neglected. Put another way, it's quite likely that you will be able to recoup your valeting costs at the time of sale!

Why shouldn't I use an automatic car wash?
Even the most effective and advanced car wash will damage your car. They use detergents and chemicals which are harmful to the paintwork. It is likely they will accelerate the paintwork's ageing process and contribute to fading and oxidation**. These overly strong chemicals are used to compensate for the inefficiency of the giant rollers. In addition to this, the rollers create thousands of tiny scratches in swirling patterns* on your bodywork. The consequences of regular visits to an automatic car wash will certainly be realised when it comes to selling your car. We can undo some if not all of the damage to your vehicle by machine polishing the paint work and finishing with a coat of hard wearing wax.

Why should I have my car waxed?
Firstly, it keeps airborne contaminants from reaching the paint and starting a chemical reaction. Secondly, it diffuses (refracts) UV and infrared radiation from the sun, thus preventing both from being absorbed by the pigment in the paint, which in turn would result in dullness and oxidising of the paint. A waxed car will actually have a lower paint surface temperature than an unwaxed car!

What is the difference between a polish and a wax?
A polish acts as a moisturiser to the paint and enriches colour and lustre. A wax on the other hand will add shine, but primarily acts as a protective coating by sealing the paintwork either by polymers or a carnauba. We use a wax based polish from Autoglym for used cars.( radiant wax) for new or nearly new cars a hard wearing Autoglym wax only. ( Hard wax )

Can i Have my car waxed if i have an After market treatment supaguard/ diamond brite/ life shine applied

if your car has an after market treatment on like Supaguard or Diamond Brite, or Lifeshine and you have been told by your dealer that you cannot have the vehicle polished then yes you are correct.

As the very term polishing means making something shiny or smooth by rubbing usually with very slight abrasion.

Most car / paint polishes contain some form of cutting action to remove slight haze and particles of dirt, left on the paint even after washing.

This would not be an acceptable practice, as the protection that you have had applied to your vehicle will be compromised but you can still enhance the protection by Waxing your car using a wax only product thus keeping your vehicle paintwork protected and in showroom condition.

We can do this for you with our non abrasive waxes and the use of microfibre polishing cloth

What is oxidation?
This is paint starvation. It occurs when paint becomes dry and loses its' natural oils. Even the mildest soaps and shampoos will accelerate this process. (We’ve known people who have used washing up liquid as a car washing shampoo. This is an absolute no!) We understand this and only use detergents of a neutral ph level to ensure proper care of your car's paintwork.
